We seek your formal contribution to the content of NAWeb 2002 as either
a refereed full paper or a poster presentation/short edited paper. Papers/posters
on topics related to the conference themes are preferred however papers/posters
on any topic related to Web-based learning will be considered..
NAWeb 2002 - the themes
are:
- innovative and practical uses of the World Wide Web in teaching and
learning
- extending the reach of existing campuses
- creating "virtual" campuses of a new and unique nature
- teaching and learning as e-business
- evaluations in e-learning
Full Refereed Papers
We are looking for high quality formal conference papers which
ideally should present completed research (including action research).
All papers will be single-blind (author identity not masked) peer reviewed
by at least two members of an international panel of experts. The review
will be of the full paper, not an extended abstract. Papers should be
3500 to 5000 words in length (approximately 10 pages) and should ideally
make liberal use of hypertext features (that is, they should be primarily
designed for delivery on the Web).
Authors who wish to submit a paper to be refereed should download this
Word template
and modify it. If accepted, correctly formatted papers will then only
need slight additional work before final publication. Alternatively, they
can submit a Word file and then convert into HTML once accepted.
This submission process will have three phases:
- Submission of the full paper for reviewing
- Authors accepted papers will be asked to respond to the reviewers
comments and submit papers in final format (using the template mentioned
above).
- Submission of the full paper once accepted
Key Dates:
- Call for papers opens March 19, 2002
- Full paper proposals submitted on or before June 30, 2002
- Final decision on acceptance notified on or before August 20, 2002.
- Final submission of revised, formatted papers on or before September
10th
- Presenters must be registered for NAWeb 2002 on or before September
10th
- Papers go to the printers on or before September 24, 2002
- Papers will be available on the NAWeb server from September 24, 2002.

Ellis Paper proposals should be emailed as attachment to Allan as
a Word file.
Call for Posters Proposals
In the Posters stream we want to provide delegates with an opportunity
to showcase research that is at an early stage of development and allow
the demonstration of say new software, or innovative course materials
etc. Posters allow face-to-face presentations to individuals and small
groups. Authors should submit a short abstract (up to 300 words in the
body of an email) for consideration. If accepted, they would be expected
to provide a standard poster presentation at the conference. Appropriate
display space will be provided (A table with space for delegates to talk
with the presenter and wall space for the poster - wireless connectivity
may be available for lap-top computers). Poster presenters should also
provide up to 1500 words as short paper (1 to 4 pages). This will be edited,
but not refereed.
Key Dates:
- Call for posters opens March 12. 2002
- Acceptance of poster proposals will be advised within 10 days of submission
and early submissions are welcome.
- Presenters must be registered for NAWeb 2002 on or before September
10th
- Final submission of short papers due on or before September 15, 2002
Publication
The refereed full papers, details of the poster presentations/edited short
papers, will be published on the Conference Web site and in the printed
Conference Proceedings.
