Please note: Having received a good deal of feedback indicating that the submission deadline falls during end-of-semester activity for many academics and that this presents a problem, we have decided to extend the abstract submission deadline by two weeks, to May 28, 1999. We will make every effort to keep our review and notification deadline on track at May 31, 1999. This year's emphasis is on getting results. Are you using the Web as an educational tool? Have you learned valuable lessons along the way, techniques and strategies that have helped you leverage the Web's full potential in instruction? Have you grappled with courseware development, mixed media (CD/Web) delivery, Web-based assessment... and won? Have you developed tools or techniques for Web-based education that you're willing to share to advance the field? Have you evaluated the results of Web-based education in comparison with other delivery mechanisms? Have you compared different techniques for Web-based education? Have you conducted a cost/benefit analysis of using the Web for distance education? In short, do you have something to say about What Works and Why? If so, we want to hear from you! We are inviting proposals for papers that focus on practical applications of World Wide Web technologies to promote learning, extending the reach of existing campuses and using the Web as a valid and viable educational tool.
